As we enter the fourth quarter of 2020, it occurs to me that we’re all debating very serious choices these days.
At Carver, we are constantly in touch with hotels, candidates, owners, and brand and property management executives; and there are themes we’re hearing: It depends on what happens with the virus. It depends on what happens in the election. It depends on when the consumer is confident enough to fly and travel. It depends:
· From the candidate, it is whether or not to consider leaving the industry.
· From the ownership groups, it is whether or not to consider that new build in 2021.
· From the property management executive, it is whether or not to grow the portfolio and acquire or to unload some hotels off of the platform.
One thing I have learned is that no decision is a decision in itself. As the saying goes, “If you don’t make a decision, time will make it for you.”
We have been providing Task Force for the past seven years, because that’s what our clients need. We have always tried to find a way to provide what the hotel industry needs, when it needs it, given the economic climate and the market trends.
So, while you are considering calling your people back to work, or pausing to see what happens week over week, we’ve gotten creative with one of our most popular options: Task to Perm.
Task to Perm is a way to utilize a Task Force Consultant with the possibility of that individual being a long-term fit. Unlike other agencies that require a buy-out fee, we are now offering a Task to Perm option that may make more sense for you during this turbulent time. With Task to Perm, you can invest in an individual filling a critical need on a week to week basis, and upon completion of a set period of time, move to hire permanently once all of those “it depends” have been settled.
